Re: Salary Ordinance of 2008
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance to be known as the Salary Ordinance of 2008. The only
significant amendments are in:
1. Section 3 (A) to clarify that the rates of compensation for the employees occupying
positions covered by the Salary Ordinance are set by the pay grade assigned or by a
fixed salary established by Section 7.
2. Section 3 (B) to provide the Council Chairperson with the authority to appoint employees
and to authorize step movements.
3. Section 7.06 to include the Engineering Student, SR-13, BU-03, class of work for the
Department of Human Resources.

SUBJECT: Salary Ordinance of 2008
Enclosed is the Salary Ordinance of 2008 for submittal to the County Council with
the County's budget.
The only significant amendments are in:
1. Section 3 (A) to clarify that the rates of compensation for the employees
occupying positions covered by the Salary Ordinance are set by the pay
grade assigned or by a fixed salary established by section 7.
2. Section 3 (B) to provide the Council Chairperson with the authority to
