SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
Waianuenue Avenue, Fronting Hilo High School
Delete Parking Meter Zone
The Department of Public Works requests the existing two-hour parking meter zone fronting Hilo High
School be deleted and converted to a no parking zone. A location map is attached.
Dr. John Masuhara, principal of Hilo High School, concurred with this proposal as parking is available
within the school parking lot for visitors. The no parking zone will improve visibility and sight distance
for motorists.
We ask for your review and consideration of the subject amendment. Please contact Richard Nishimura,
Traffic Division Chief, at 961-8341 if you have any questions.
