A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Lyman Museum is the only general, full-sized museum on the Island
of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Lyman Museum is the only museum on a neighbor island that is
accredited by the American Association of Museums; and
WHEREAS, the Museum's mission is telling the story of Hawaii, its island and its
people; and
WHEREAS, the Museum serves a broad educational mandate in the state, especially
by providing a comprehensive look at the natural and cultural history of Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Museum is planning a new exhibit, tentatively entitled "Island
Heritage Gallery", which will integrate the story of Hawai`i's history with the growth of our
multicultural society; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated
to the Department of Research and Development to help defray some of the costs for the
planning and development of the exhibit; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI°I that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $24,000
CREDITED TO:
010.161.5161.60 Department of Research and Development $24,000
Tourism Promotion Misc. Contract Services
(Lyman Museum Island Heritage Gallery Exhibit)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and the Director of Finance and that
the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance
with the terms of this resolution.
