Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Larry Komata of Council District 2 to the County
of Hawai'i Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation
Commission. Mr. Komata is a life-long resident of Hawaii. He retired as a
residential fee appraiser for his own business.
Mr. Komata is presently the Chair on the Pukahi District Advancement
Committee for the Boy Scouts of America Aloha Council, Vice-President for the
Big Island RC & D Council, and a former member of the Rotary Club of South
Hilo. He states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed,
Mr. Komata will replace Laura Schuster, whose term will expire on
December 31, 2009.
