Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 1090, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 1090, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated Mazch 11, 2008, nominate
Wesley Takai of Council District 2, to the Hawaii County Tax Board of Review.
A lifelong resident of Hawaii, Mr. Takai retired from the County of Hawaii Real Property Tax
Department as aTax Administrator in December, 2007. He is currently a member of the Hilo
Hongwangi Judo Booster Club, Waiakea Pirates Booster Club, and the Mauka Kaumana Kumiai.
He states that he is not affiliated with any political party.
Pursuant to Article XIV, Section 14-5, Hawaii County Charter, there shall be a board of ethics,
consisting of five members who shall be residents of the County, appointed by the mayor with
the approval of the Council.
The Committee agreed that Mr. Takai does not have to appeaz before the full Council for final
confirmation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Mr. Wesley Takai to the Hawaii
County Tax Board of Review, to serve a term ending December 31, 2012.
