Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawai'i County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures
of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we
request the Council's approval of the following donation:
Monetary donation of $100 to the Department of Parks and Recreation, to cover
expenses of the Recreation Division's Annual Biggest Easter Egg Hunt, by Ms.
Candace Fukuda-Hanle, dba Kandi's Drive Inn, Inc., 56 W. Kawailani Street, Hilo,
Hawai'i 96720.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.

To accept and acknowledge a donation of $100 for the Department of Parks and Recreation - Recreation
Division
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Kandi's Drive Inn Inc., has donated $100 to the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Funds will be used to cover expenses of the Recreation Division's Annual Biggest Easter Egg Hunt. The
activity was held on March 21, 2008 at Wong Stadium.
