SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
KAMEHAMEHA AVENUE AT MAMO STREET
PROPOSED REVISION OF LENGTH OF EXISTING ACTIVE LOADING ZONE
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6, Loading Zones Section
24-288.01, Schedule 36.01, Active loading and unloading zones, subsection (c)(1), South Hilo be
amended by revising existing item:
KAMEHAMEHA AVENUE, MAUKA SIDE, [FROM unrN~T SIXTFEET IN THE H A Al A KU A DIRECTION] BEGINNING FROM A
POINT NINETY-FOUR FEET WEST OF MAMO STREET AND EXTENDING
FORTY-FOUR FEET IN THE WESTERLY DIRECTION, FROM 5:00 A.M. TO
4:00 P.M., ON WEDNESDAYS AND SATURDAYS.
The need for this amendment is based on the length of the active loading zone changing due to
the conversion of one of the existing active loading zone stalls to an ADA stall. The ADA stall
was a request made through the Downtown Improvement Association. We ask for your review
of and consideration for adoption of the subject amendment. Should you have any questions,
please contact Mr. Ronald L. Thiel, Traffic Division Chief, at 961-8341. A location map is
attached.
