Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Ms. Billie Keawekane of Council District 4 to the Hawai'i
County Transportation Commission. Ms. Keawekane is a life-long resident of Hawai'i.
Since 1991, she has been employed by Alu Like, Inc. as an island representative.
Ms. Keawekane currently is a member of the Keaukaha Panaewa Farm Association and
the Keaukaha Community Association. She is the president and head pastor of the
Ka Uhane Hemolele O Ka Malamalama Church.
Ms. Keawekane was a former member of the Transportation Commission whose term
expired in December 2005. Ms. Keawekane states that she is a Democrat. If
confirmed, she will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2012.
