Hastings The Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, which represents more than 340 I'iee President businesses and 720 members, wishes to urge your yes vote on the upcoming Mary Begier question on Resolution 551-08, multi-year contract before the Finance 7reasaa.er Committee on the county's waste-to-energy project. Jon Miyata Over the last 15 months and continuing through this week, HICC has stayed Past President David Dcl,uz Jr abreast of this important and potentially expensive issue, including holding a . joint public forum last year with the Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawaii. Mike Gleason Joseph uanley, Jr. We promise to continue our due diligence to the conclusion of the process. Right Jan I tigashi now, though, we have asked and gotten answers to all the questions that can be Jim Kennedy answered without the next step. Randy Kurohara Warren Fee We are comfortable that a yes vote, first by the Finance Committee and then by IJam Mizunu Council, will allow the parties to properly amass the remaining information on costs, impacts, energy contracts and the like. Seth Murashige Irene Nagao Like you, and the other members of Council, the Chamber is continually Sharon Scheele approached by people with other ideas and other technologies to solve our waste Ron Schurra problem. But the County entered into a good and honest process to get to this Stc~e Shropshire point and should continue on that trajectory that will lead to fuller cost estimates Alice Sledge and environmental impact assessment.
