HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 0997.021 2006-2008 RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD When we moved to Kona Scenic, 13 years ago, it was a quiet RESIDENTIAL area. Hokulia changed all that with their car, and giant truck traffic. Many vehicles have loud, modified exhaust systems, and the 25 MPH limit reads 52 to them. We have several local residents that also contribute to the situation. Add three ultra loud, fast, motorcycles, and it is easy to see what Haleki'i Street is like from 6 AM to 6 PM. Now the County Council wants to further exacerbate the problem with fifteen afternoon hours, a week, of bumper, to bumper traffic. Using our street as an emergency connector is perfectly fine, but not as a solution to a botched bypass road problem. Haleki'I Street was never intended to be an Arterial Highway, but Hokulia, and the County Council are changing all that for ever. This is a RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD, not an industrial area, and the quality of our life is going down fast. I do not think the County Council should be involved in trashing this once very nice place to live.
