Subject: APPROVE BILL 257
Dear Council members,
Please approve Bill 257 to put it on the ballot for November 2008.
Also please re-insert the clauses that
(1) for an initiative or referendum, the mayor cannot veto, and the Council cannot overturn except by a two-thirds
vote
(2) a measure can qualify for the ballot with 10% of the amount of signatures in the last mayoral election.
