Dear Hawaii County Council Member
Please override Mayor Kim's veto of Bill 224.
Our beaches and parks are not ashtrays. Let's show the world that Hawaii truly is the
health state and keep our beaches and parks free of tobacco. In the meantime we also
protect our marine life by eliminating toxic debris that kill them
This is an easy to implement bill because it is easy to understand. You can't smoke in
our beaches and parks.
Bill 224 will still allow individuals to smoke and use tobacco products ? just not at our
beautiful parks, beaches and facilities where keiki and their ohana visit and would like
to fully enjoy.
Please accept this as written testimony in support of this bill and override the veto.
