Dear Councilman Joe Reynolds, Councilman Curtis Wer and other Councilpersons,
It has been brought to our attention. that thare is going to be. move. for a change, of
hands at the Hawall island Humane Society Our company is definitely In favorof a
change. In the' past. We have had an excellent relationship with the, Hawaii. Island
Humane Society when Madelyn Barrea was the manager. Since she left we have not
had that relationship. We have in the past donated many hours of volunteer work,
doing blood tests, worm checks, etc. Since the new administration has taken over we
were informed our volunteer services where no longer needed.
We will support Ginger Towle and Madelyn Barrea in their action for a charge of
hands. We feel that presently there is slot of chaos at the Humane Society and would
think a change of hands would do a great deal of good. Including reinvolving our
practice to do volunteer work again.
The Hawaii Island Humane Society has had a long history with us for having a
balance due, unfortunately have had to revoke their 10% discount on services and can
no longer charge services with us. The Hawaii Island Humane Society has just started
charging veterinarians for pick-up of deceased animals. Alot of these animals have
been picked up by strangers along side of the road and brought to us instead of the
Humane Society. We have gone out of our way to try and accommodate them with.
fitting their animals in when we are busy and giving advise and free services. We feel
it is very unfortunate that they can not seem to keep a working relationship with the
local veterinarians.
Thank- you for your consideration,
The staff at Pet Medical Center
