Dear Councilman Reynolds,
Right after I last wrote to you, this "happy face
at the shelter" was "fired" from my volunteer position
by Lisa Fowler, the Director of Hawaii Island Humane
Society (HIHS). I know this sounds ridiculous, but it
is further evidence of the lengths to which Ms. Fowler
will go to get rid of people who do not agree with her.
After all, I am the tenth person to be forced out by
Ms. Fowler, managers, officers and now volunteers. I
am letting you know what happened because I feel it is
more proof that Ms. Fowler does not have the welfare of
the animals, the humane society, or the public in mind,
but, in my opinion, only the enforcement of her own
agenda, whatever that is.
I have enclosed the second article in West Hawaii
Today submitted by HIHS in what is in my opinion a public
relations campaign motivated by Ginger Towle's challenge
to HIHS in West Hawaii. It would be tragic if this recent
public relations blitz confused the issue and the Council
failed to award at least the West Hawaii portion of the
animal control contract to Ms. Towle. In my opinion,
she is clearly the only party with the welfare of the
animals in mind and the competence to run the animal
control operation in West Hawaii.
