Bill No. 12, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 16-03 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 28, dated December 2, 2002, amends Ordinance
No. 02-76, as amended. the Operating Budget, ending June 30. 2003. 'I~hc amendment is as

l hose funds from the U.S. Department of.Iustice. Office of Community Oriented Policing
Services (COPS) will be used for equipment and training to improve the computer capabilities
within the Hawaii County Police Department, dispatch section. 'the computer upgrade should
provide for more rapid responses to requests for police or emergency assistance.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section li-13(b), I lawai'i Counh
Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds fbr the
program(s) identified in Section I .
