Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 26-03, reports as Ibllows:
Resolution No. 26-03, transmitted jointly with Bill No. i0 by Director of Finance
William "fakaba, via Conununication No. 63, dated December 17, 2002, authorizes the Office of
the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of ~fransportation,
Public Affairs Office -Safe Community Program for a Crossing Guard Training grant.
The State of Hawaii Department of'fransportation, Public Affairs Otiice Safe ('onu»unit}
Program has authorized a $792 grant to the Police Department for a School Crossing Guard
"framing to be used to increase pedestrian safety by conducting training sessions for school
crossing guards.
Pursuant to Section 46-7. Hawaii Revised Statutes, county departments must obtain the consent
of the council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to
be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds
or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those
powers.
Your Committee on F'inancc is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 26-0>
and recommends its adoption.
