Bill No. 27, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 23-03 by Director of Finance
William "I~akaba, via Communication No. 60, dated December 19. 2002. amends Ordinance
No. 02-76, as amended, the Operating Budget ending June 30. 2003. 'T'he amendment is as
follows:

l~hese funds from the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Public Affairs 0ltice -
State Community Program will he used for supplies, oflice space rental, and travel expenses.
The goal of this program is to reduce Dt 11 related crashes, injuries, arrests. and citations in the
District of Ka'u.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County
Charter, the bill authorizes the Mayor to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the
Drinking/Driving Community 1ducation Campaign program.
Your Committee nn Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 27 and
recommends it pass tirst reading.
