Resolution No. 36-03. reports as follows:
Resolution No. 36-03, transmitted by Council Chair James Y. Arakaki via Communication
No. 1 12, dated January 21, 2003, recognizes March, 2003 as National Women's history Month.
I~he theme of this year's National 'omen's f listory Month is "Women Pioneering the Future".
The llawai'i County Committee on the Status of Women is sponsoring a "Kcal Women" creative
writing competition of students island-wide in grades 5 through 12. 'hhe essay contest increases
awareness of the many different ways that women made history in I lawai'i and ~bstcrs pride in
the outstanding accomplishment of women in Hawai' i.
four Committee on I Iuman Sen~ices and Economic Development is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Resolution Nu. 36-03 and recommends its adoption.
