Communication No. 76 reports as tb0ows:
Communication No. 76, dated December 23, 2002 is from Mayor Harry Kim submitting the
appointment of Ms. Sue Ota to serve on the Hawaii County Transportation Commission. According
to Communication No. 76, Ms. Ota is a life long resident of Hawaii and a retired Registered Nurse.
She is an active retiree participating in several communih~ goups including the Hilo Association for
Family and Communication Associations and the American Association of Retired Persons. Ms. Ota
is not aitiliated with any political party. If confirmed, she will till the Council District 4 vacancy and
save until December 31. 200.
During the meeting, several members commended her willingness to ser~c and spoke in fau~r of
Ms. Ota's nomination by remarking on her kind and enthusiastic demeanor.
