Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations. to which was referred
Communication No. 41 by Mayor 1 Farry Kim dated December 10, 200?, reports as Ibllo~cs:
Communication No. 41 recommends the appointment of Bruce C. McClure as the Hawaii
('ounty Public Works Director, for a co-terminous term with Mayor Harry Kim ending on
December 6, 2004.
Since 1998, the Department of~ Water Supply has employed Mr. McClure. I Ic also screed as
both the Deputy Chief and Chief Engineer between 1984 and 1993. Also attached to
Communication No. Al is Mr. McClure~s resume.
At today~s meeting, Mayor Harry Kim spoke in favor of Mr. McClure's appointment.
Mr. McClure also answered questions from this committee in relation to building permits and
rural road problems that are currently facing the County of Huwaii.
Your Committee on Public V~'orks and Intergovernmental Relations is in accordance with the purpose
and intent of Communication No. 41 and recommends the appuinunent of Bruce C. Mc('lure as
the Director of the Department of Public Works.
