Your Committee on Finance, to which was relerred Resolution No. 34-03. reports as tbllows:
Resolution No. 34-03, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 44 by Director of Finance
William "l~akaba, via Communication No. 102, dated .lanuary R, 2003. authorizes the acceptance
of a monetary donation from the Hawaii Island Chapter of the Hawaii .Ioint Police Association.
The Hawaii Island Chapter of-the ! lawai'i .Ioint Police Association has graciously donated
$1,000.00 to the llawai'i County Police Department to be used towards its HI-PAL program.
Pursuant to Article Xlll, Section 13-12. Ilawai'i County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County. may accept gifts or donations of money.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. David Heaukulani, Secretary/Treasurer, I lawai' i Joint
Police Association -Hawaii Island Chapter, c/o 1277 S. Kumuwaina Place. Hilo, I lawai'i
96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 34-03
and recommends its adoption.
