Your Committee on Finance. to which was relerred Resolution No. 35-03, reports as ~i~llows:
Resolution No. 35-03, transmitted by Director of Finanec William'fakaba, via Communication
No. 103, dated January 8, 2003, authorizes the payment of funds of a later I fiscal year and of
more than one fiscal year for amulti-year lease of real property tier the EMS ambulance unit in
Na'alehu.
The Hawaii County Fire Department wishes to negotiate a lease contract for office space for the
Na'alehu EMS ambulance unit as their current lease will expire on March 1, 2003. Funds would
be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated coats.
Pursuant to Section 10-1 1, I lawai'i County Charter, any contract- lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approccd by
resolution.
Due to the tact that there was no lease attached to the communication, Mr. Tyler voted kanalua
twice.
Your Committee on Finanec is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 35-03
and recommends its adoption.
