Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication Nn. 105, reports as follows:
Communication No. 10~, transmitted by Mawr Harry Kim, dated .lanuary A. 2003, nominates Mr. Yukio Takcya.
Mr. Carl E. Dionne and Ms. Leina'ala B. F,nos to the County of Hawaii Liquor Commission.
Council District 3 - A lifetime resident of Hawaii, Mr. Yukio Takeya is currently the principal broker for Ala
Kai Realty. His community services contributions include the director for Destination Hilo, past president and
auditor for the Japanese Chamber ofCommercc and Industry of Hawaii, and past president of the Hawaii
Association of Realtors. A member of the Democratic Party, he will serve a term to end December 3I, 2007.
Council District 5 - A resident of Ha~aai-i fur I~ dears. Mr. Carl I~:. Dionne is currntl~ an Information
Technology Specialist with the University of Hawaii at I lilo, Computer Science Department. Ile is a member of
the HGEA and has served two year, as the HGEA team captain for the American Cancer Socict} ~s Relay for Life
Walkathon. Of no political party affiliation, he will save a term to end Decemher 31, 2006.
Council District 3- A lifetime resident of Hawaii, Ms. Leina'ala B. Enos is currcmly a Community
Development Facilitator for the Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center. She presently serves as a board member
with the Na'alehu United Methodist Church- current treasurer for the Hawaiian Civic Club of Ka'u. and has
served in various capacities with the Na'alehu Community Club. She also served as a member of the Naalehu
School SCBM. Of no political party affiliation, she will serve a term to end December 31, 2007.
Pursuant to Article VII, Chapter 3. Section 7-3.2, I lawai'i County Charter, there shall he a liquor commission
consisting of nine members who shall be appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the confirmation of Mr. Yukio Takeya. Mr. Carl E. Dionne and
Ms. Leina'ala B. Enos to the County of Hawaii Liquor Commission to serve terms ending December 31, 2007
(Mr. ~T'akeya and Ms. Enos) and December 31.2006 (Mr. Dionne).
