Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 147, reports as filllows:
Communication No. 147, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated February 24, 2003, nominates
Ms. Linda S. Smith of Council District b to the Hawaii County Tax Board of Review.
A resident of Hawaii for 55 years, Ms. Linda S. Smith is currently retired. She is a member of
the Volcano Arts Center and the Lyman House Museum. She is also a former member of the
Volcano Community Association. Of no political party affiliation, she will serve a term to end
December 31.2007.
Pursuant to Section 19-96. Hawaii County Code, there is created a tax board of review for the
county which shall consist of five members...appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the
council as provided by charter.
Your Committee on Finance recommends confirmation of Ms. Linda S. Smith to the I lawai' i
County Tax Board of Review.
