Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 46-03, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 46-03. transmitted jointly with Bill No. 64 by Director of Finance William
Takaba, via Communication No. 152, dated h'ebruary 20, 2003, authorizes the acceptance of a
donation from Wal-Mart Hilo.
Wal-Mart Hilo, as part of their community involvement program, has graciously donated $600 to
the Hawaii County Fire Department for the purchase of educational materials to be distributed
to the public in commemoration of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week in May 2003.
Pursuant to Article XI11. Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council on behalf ofthc
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Glenn Schneider, Manager, Wal-Mart Hilo.

Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 46-03
and recommends its adoption.
