Department of Public Works, transmitting the above bill lix Council consideration. In this letter.
Mr. McClure reports that the amendment proposed in Bill No. 96 will improve overall tratlic
salcty along Kawaihac Road and is supported by the South Kohala Traffic Safety Committee.
The purpose of Bill No. 96 is to amend Chapter 24, relating to Vehicles and 'I~raliic, Article I U,
Division 1, Section 24-256_ Scheduled (30 mile per hour IimiU. Suhscction (c) Kohala. Item (~),
of the Hawaii County (`ode 1983 (1995 edition). by lowering the existing :~ mph speed limit on
portions of Kawaihac Road l0 30 mph.
