Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 57-03, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 57-03, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 80 by Director of Finance William
Takaba, via Communication No. 182, dated March 18. 2003, authorizes the acceptance of a
monetary donation from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund.
"I'he Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund has graciously donated $10.000 to the I lawai'i County Fire
Department for the purchase of necessary equipment for the Waiakea and Kailua rescue stations
to increase the safety and efficiency for ocean search and rescue.
Pursuant to Article XIIL Section 13-12, -lawai'i Counri Charter. the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund, c/o Mr. Recd E.
Hisamoto. Donor Services ;lssistanL I Iawai'i Community Foundation. 65-1279 Kawaihae Road.
Parker Square. Room 203, Kamuela. Hawaii 96743, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 57-03
and recommends its adoption.
