Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 91, reports as lollows:
Bill No. 91. transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 201.
dated March 31, 2003, adopts a pay plan for persons employed by the County other than those
whose pay is otherwise provided for. designating payroll periods, pay days, prescribing
requirements with respect to official fidelity bonds, and repealing Ordinance No. 02-7H and all
amendments thereto, said Ordinance to be known as the Salary Ordinance of 200'..
Che significant changes ti-om Ordinance No. 02-78 are as Ibllows:
I) The deletion of the Cbunh~ Clerk, Deputy County Clerk. and Legislative Auditor
classes of work and pay rates. 'fhe Salary Commission now sets the pay rates Ibr
these classes pursuant to the I lawai'i County Charter amendment.
3) The deletion of the old hourly pay rate for the Student Intern. Student Helper I.
Student Helper IL and the Senior Communih~ Services Aid classes of work.
3) The addition of the Student Helper 11 class for the Department of Puhiic Works.
Section 3-13. Hawaii County Charter, provides for the establishment of a pay plan fbr all
persons employed by the County whose pay is not otherwise provided Ibr.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of BiII No. 91 and
recommends it pass first reading.
