Barbara Bell eia Communication No. 206, dated March 25. 2003. amends Chapter ? I-,6.1 of the
Hawaii C ounty Code 198? (1995 Edition), relating to recycled water scrcice charge rates.
Bill No. 92 proposes to add a new "recycled water" fee to the wastewater scrcice charge rates.
The proposed new rate and effective dates are as follows:

Recycled water is used ibr landscaping and dust control ^t a volume of approzimateh -40,000
gallons per day. 'Ehe usage could easily go up three to ibur times more in a few erlrs. The
Department of Hawaiian Home bands would also be a potential customer as it anticipates
development in the area of the Kcalal.che Wastewater ll'eatment Plant.
Bill No. 92, Draft 2, transmitted by Director of the Department ol~ f{m ironmcntal Management
Barbara Bell pia Communication No. 206.1. dated April 30, 200, amended this bill to include
the last line of page 1 as it appears in the current Chapter 21 Article 4, Section 21->6.1 0l the
I Iawai'i Counh Code. which ~+~as unintentionally dropped when drafting the bill.

to Draft 2, and recommends it pass first reading.
