fhe Police Department will be rccci~ ing additional funds from the State Department of
Transportation Public Affairs Satc Communities Program to purchase five laser speed
detection systems tier its Speed Enforcement Program.
Pursuant to Section 46-7. I lawai'i Revised Statutes and Section 13-13(h), I lawai'i Count
Charter, the Mayor is already authorized to apply for. receive and expend the funds Ibr this
program identified in the Operating Budget.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord ~~ith the purpose and intart of Bill No. 99 and
recommends it pass tirst reading.
