Communication No. 259 is transmitted by Mayor I tarry Kim, dated Mav 19, 2001, suhmilling Ibr
confirmation the nomination of Ms. Lorraine M. Stahr of District 5 to the County of I lawai'i
P:nvironmental Management Commission.
Lorraine M. Stahr was a residcm of Oahu for twelve years and is a rcvident of llawai'i lin~ the pall
elccen Vicars. She has scr~cd as program manager for the Oregon W'atcr Resources Department
(Governors Watershed Enhancement Board). Shc has also screed as a board member of the Linn
County. Oregon. Soil and Water Conservation District. In Hawaii, she is a past coordinator for the
Vacationland Neighborhood Watch. and is presentl} the coordinator lur the Kapoho Beach Lots
Neighborhood Watch program. Ms. Stahr states that she is a member of the Republican Part}. If
confirmed, she will sere a term to expire on December 31.2005, replacing Ms. Luang Jones, who
resigned.
Your Conunittce on Parks and I?nvironmcntal Management recommends confirmation of
Ms. Lorraine M. Stahr of District 5 to the Hawaii County Environmental Management
Corauission to serve a term to expire December 1 I. 2005.
