Resolution No. 87-03, transmitted by Director of I~inance William Takaba, tia Communication
No. 289, dated July 16. 200 ~. authoriics the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more
than one fiscal vcar for eleven refuse trailers.
l~he Department of I?nvironmental Management, Solid Waste Division, wishes to enter imo a
Lice-year (case contract with purchase options for eleven refuse trailers. Several of die current
refuse trailers are in excess of twche ~ ears of age, require major replacement parts and
maintenance, and hate reached the end of their useful lilt.
l he Solid Waste Fund does not have the financial resources to purchase the aforementioned
equipment and, therefore, reyucsts die authority to enter into a Icasc agreement for five years.
I~ ands would be budgeted in fuhu'c fiscal years to cover the anticipated costs.
Pursuant to Section 10-1 1, 1 lawai'i County Charter. any contract lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from die appropriations of a later fiscal year must be appr<ned b}
resolution.

and reconuncnds its adoption.
