Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Resolution No. 98-03, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 98-03, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 143 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 334, dated September 3, 2003, authorizes the
acceptance of a donation Isom the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund.
The Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund has graciously donated $18,000.00 to the Hawaii County
Fire Department for the purchase of rescue and fire equipment to increase public safety for the
residents of the County of Hawaii.
Pursuant to Article X[t[, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council on behalf ofthe
County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities. or other personal property or of real
estate or any' interest in real estate.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund, c/o
Mr. Reed E. Hisamoto, Donor Services Assistant, Hawaii Community Foundation, 65-1279
Kawaihae Road, Parker Square_ Room 203. Kamuela, Ilawai'i 96743, acknowledging this
generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 98-03
and recommends its adoption.
