Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 109-03, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 109-03, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 355, dated September 19, 2003, creates three Police Dispatcher lll (Temporary) positions for
the Hawaii County Police Department.
These positions are needed to allow the department to temporarily compensate employees who
take on the added responsibility of providing training and close supervision to the entry level
dispatchers as well as providing refresher training for newly hired Radio Dispatcher I I positions
or remedial training as needed.
'These positions will help the department retain experienced, highly skilled dispatchers, and
provide incentives for incumbents to actively participate in training newly hired dispatchers and
the current staff.
For information purposes, Mr. Tyler voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 109-03
and recommends its adoption.
