Re: Comm. No. 387/Bill No. 171
Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Bill No. 171, reports as follows:
Bill No. 171, transmittedjointly with Resolution No. 121-03 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 387, dated October 17, 2003, amends Ordinance
No. 03-90, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending June 30, 2004, by adding the following
project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Ka'ohe Homestead North Road 110-399-5390.26 $20,399.55
Improvement -Private
Funds for these projects shall be provided from private contributions.
These funds from the Ka`ohe North Road Association will be used to cover the estimated costs
for the llepartment of Public Works to provide the basic grubbing and gravel covering
improvements to the Ka'ohe Homestead "North Road". These basic repairs are necessary to
restore the road to usability as an unpaved public access road and to provide public legal access
to portions of the Ka'ohe Homesteads.
Council Member Tyler expressed concern that there are no matching funds from the County to
assist the efforts of the community in this process.
For informational purposes, Mr. 'hyler voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 171 and
recommends it pass first reading.
