Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 380 and attached Bill No. 166, reports as follows:
Communication No. 380 is from Director of Public Works Bruce McClure dated October 13, 2003,
transmitting Bill No. 166 for the CounciFs review and consideration.
The purpose of Bill No. 166 is to amend Chapter 24, article 10, division 2, section 24-274.1,
schedule 22.1 (traffic signal systems), subsection (c) South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983
(1995) edition), by adding Lanikaula Street/Manono Street intersection to the traffic signal systems
schedule.
The traffic signal and intersection improvements for Lanikaula Street and Manono Street were
completed on June 5, 2002.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 166 and recommends that it
pass first reading.
