Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 180. reports as follows:
Bill No. 180. transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 405,
dated October 29, 2003, amends Ordinance No. 03-91, as amended. the Operating Budget,
ending June 30, 2004. The amendment is as tollows:

The Department of Parks and Recreation Elderly Activities Division's Coordinated Services
Program for the Elderly (CSE) will be receiving additional funds from the State of Hawaii
Department of Human Services. Specitically. the funds will be used to supplement the current
salaries and wages budget of CSE and enable the staff to provide in-home chore services to an
increased number ofdisabled/older adults.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b). Hawaii County
Charter, the Mayor is already authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for this
program identified in the Operating Budget.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 180 and
recommends it pass first reading.
