Your Committee on Finance. to which was referred Bill No. 182. reports as follows:
Bill No. 182, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 127-03 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 412, dated November 4, 2003, amends Ordinance
No. 03-91, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending June 30.2004. The amendment is as
follows:

hhese funds from the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation derived from U.S.
Department of Transportation will be used to purchase power extrication tools. commonly called
the ".laws of Life' for the Hawaii County Fire Department's Kaumana and Kawailani Dire
Units.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, I lawai'i Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), llawai`i County
Charter, the Mayor is hereby authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds fora "Jaws of
Lile" project.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 182 and
recommends it pass first reading.
