Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 130-03, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 130-03, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 419, dated November 18, 2003, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Friends of
Wai'ohinu Park.
I~he Friends of Wai`ohinu Park, as part of the Parks and Recreation"s Friends of the Park
Program, has graciously donated keiki playground equipment for ages 1-5 for the Wai'ohinu
Park. 'I~he value of this donation is estimated at $17,868.64.
Pursuant to Article Xlll, Section 13-13, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Friends of Wai`ohinu Park, c/o Ms. Cathy Lewis, P.O.
Box 197. Na'alehu. Hawaii 96772, acknowledging this generous donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 130-03
and recommends its adoption.
