Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 193, repons as follows:
Bill No. 193, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 430, dated
December I, ?003, amends Ordinance No. 03-90, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending June 30, ?004, by
adding the tbllowing project:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Puainako Street Extension Project - 110-399-5395.05 $700,000
County Match
Funds for these projects shall be provided from general obligation bonds, capital projects, fund-fund balance
and/or other sources.
Funds will he for the County portion of the completion of the Puainako Street Extension Project including
additional right-of--way acquisition as requested by the State Department of Transportation.
During its discussion, Ben Ishii informed Your Committee that the Department of Public Works requested
reimbursement for the aforementioned project from the State Department of Transportation (DOT) by letter. "fo
date, Public Works has not received a reimbursement commitment from the DO'1. Some Committee members
requested that a written commitment he provided prior to the next Council meeting.
Also some members of Your Committee requested a breakdown of the actual amount spent for the Puainako
Street Extension project from Public Works, F,ngineering Division prior to the next Council meeting.
E'or informational purposes, Mr. Tyler voted kanalua twice.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 193 and recommends it pass first
reading.
