Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 469, reports as follows:
Communication No. 469, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated January 16, 2004, nominates
Ms. Claudia L. Woodward-Rice of Council District t to serve on the County of Hawaii Tax
Board of Review.
A resident of Hawaii for over 14 years, Ms. Claudia L. Woodward-Rice is a selt=employed
bookkeeper/consultant. She is a past vice president of the Honomu Village Association, past
chair and member of the Advisory Board for the Honomu Computer Resource Center, member
of the Big Island Sustainable Communities Association and also has served with Recycle
Hawaii. Of no political affiliation, she will serve a term to end December 31, 2008, replacing
Mr. Fred Yamashiro, whose term expired on December 31.2003.
Pursuant to Section 19-96. Hawaii County C ode, there is created a board of review for the
county which shall consist of tive members...appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the
council as provided by section 13-4 of the Hawaii County Charter.
Your Committee on Finance recommends confirmation of the appointment of Ms. Claudia L.
Woodward-Rice to the County of Hawai' i Tax Board of Review for a term ending
December 3l, 2008.
