Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 226, reports as follows:
Bill No. 226, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 488,
dated January 28, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 03-91, as amended, the Operating [3udget,
ending June 30, 2004. The amendment is as follows:

TOTAL $9,932
The State of Hawaii Department of Fluman Services has increased the Chore Agreement for the
County of Hawaii. 'Chew funds will supplement the current salaries and wages, mileage, and
medical supplies budget of Coordinated Services Program for the Elderly, and enable the staff to
provide in-home chore services to an increased number ofdisabled/older adults.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County
Charter, the Mayor is already authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for this
program identified in the Operating Budget.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 226 and
recommends it pass first reading.
