Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 153-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 153-04, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 497, dated February 4, 2004, creates an Assistant Account Clerk 1 /4T (Temporary) position
for the Hawaii County Resource Center.
This position is part of the U.S. Department of,Iustice's Community Oriented Policing Services
(COPS) grant award, which is passed through the Hawaii Community Foundation (HCF) as part
of the E3ig Island Meth Initiative. This position will enable the Department of Research and
Development's Hawaii County Resource Center to maintain its present level of effectiveness in
operations and increase the communities' ability to build its capacities.
Funds will be made available through the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Oriented
Policing Services (COPS) grant through the Hawaii Community Foundation.
Research and Development Director .lane Testa informed Your Committee that, if council does
not approve this resolution, they would have to renegotiate with HCF as this position is part of
the agreement.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 153-04
and recommends its adoption.
