Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 154-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 154-04, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 498, dated February 4, 2004, authorizes the payment of funds of a later tiscal year and of
more than one fiscal year for amulti-year lease for a copy machine.
The Department of Parks and Recreation's Elderly Activities Division -Nutrition Program
wishes to enter into afive-year lease agreement for a copy machine. Funds would be budgeted
in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated costs.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation
requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later tiscal year must be approved by
resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 154-04
and recommends its adoption.
