Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 221, reports as follows:
Qill No. 221, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 474,
dated January 22, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 03-90, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending
June 30, 2004, by adding the following project:
POLICE:
Microwave Relocation & System 110-299-5299.49 $500,000
Renovation -County
Funds for these projects shall be provided from general fund and/or other sources.
Additional funds are needed for unanticipated costs related to additional environmental
assessment work, environmental assessment radar study costs, revisions to the channel plan,
radio costs, electromagnetic environmental (EME) testing and other unforeseen requirements
connected to the replacement of the existing microwave communications system used by a
variety of public safety agencies.
Originally heard on February 3, 2004, this measure was previously deferred on that day due to
heavy scheduling of all committee meetings for the day.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 221 and
recommends it pass first reading.
