RE: Communication No. 537
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred
Communication No. 537, reports as follows:
Communication No. 537 is from Harry Kim, Mayor of the County of Hawaii, dated February 23, 2004,
submitting for confirmation the appointment of Peter S. Lerma and Douglas A. Espejo to the County of Hawaii
Transportation Commission.
Mr. Lerma, of Council District I, a lifelong resident of Hawaii, is employed by the Norwegian Cruise Line. He
states that he is not affiliated with nay political party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December
31, 2005, replacing Ms. Beverly Chrisman, who resigned.
Mc Espejo, of Council District 3, a lifelong resident of Hawaii, is the manager of Big Island Car Wash. He
states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December
31, 2008, replacing Mr. Paul Matsumoto, whose term expired on December 31, 2003.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations recommends the approval of the appointment
of Mr. Peter S. Lerma and Mr. Douglas A. Espejo to the Transportation Commission.
