Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 167-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 167-04, transmittedjointly with Bill No. 244 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 545, dated March 1, 2004, authorizes the acceptance of
a donation from the Staff and Management of Kona Coast Resort.
fhe Staff and Management of Kona Coast Resort has graciously donated $500.00 to the Hawaii
County Police Department's Special Response Team, in recognition of the team being an
outstanding partner in the community.
Pursuant to Article X[II, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real
estate or any interest in real estate.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Craig A. Leeper, C.H.A., General Manager, Kona
Coast Resort, 78-6842 Ali'i Drive, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96740, acknowledging this generous
donation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the $500.00 donation from the Staff
and Management of Kona Coast Resort and is in accord with the purpose and intent of
Resolution No. 167-04 and recommends its adoption.
