Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 575, reports as follows:
Communication No. 575, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, dated April I,
2004, authorizes the acceptance of donations ti-om Patrick & Patricia Milligan and Ruth Ching.
In memory of Mr. Bernard Schwab, Patrick & Patricia Milligan and Ruth Ching has graciously
donated $25.00 and $30.00 to the Department of Parks & Recreation for programs at the
Pana'ewa Rainforest Loo.
Pursuant to Article Xlll. Section ] 3-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
C'ounry, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(c), of the Hawaii County Code, any
donation or gift which does not tall within the capitalization procedures of the department of
finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Patrick & Patricia Milligan, 14671 Danborough Road.
rustic, CA 92680-6755 and Ruth Ching, 465 W. Willamette Lane, Claremont, CA 91711,
acknowledging these generous donations.
Your Committee on Finance recommends the acceptance of the $25.00 and $30.00 donations
from Patrick & Patricia Milligan and Ruth Ching.
