Re: Comm. No. 585/Bill No. 259
Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 259, reports as follows:
F3ill No. 259. transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 585,
doted April 6, 2004, amends Ordinance No. 99-41 of the County of Hawaii adopted on
May 17, 2000, relating to the issuance of general obligation bonds for the purpose of financing
various public improvements for the County of Hawaii.
Ordinance No. 99-41 authorized the County of Hawaii to issue and sell general obligation bonds
in the amount of $30,000,000 and was amended by Ordinance 00-56 adopted on May 17, 2000.
Section 14 of the ordinance consisted of a list of public improvement projects to be funded.
The purpose of this bill is to add to the following projects:
A) Prosecuting Attorneys Office at Aupuni Center $1,750,000
B) Scottie White Bridge Replacement $ 240,000
C) Wood Valley Road Repairs $ 500,000
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 259 and
recommends it pass first reading.
