Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 183-04, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 183-04, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 612, dated April 27, 2004, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from the Hawaii Electric
light Company, Inc.
The Hawaii Electric Light Company, Inc. has graciously donated a 1996 and a 1997 tour-wheel
drive one-ton pick-up trucks with utility bodies to the Hawaii County Fire Department. "I'he
value of this donation is estimated at $12,900.00.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr. Warren Lee, President, Hawaii Electric Light
Company, Inc., P.O. Box ]027, Hilo, Hawaii 9672 1-1 027, acknowledging this generous
donation.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 183-04
and recommends its adoption.
